CTF7 Code of Conduct

Participation Standards

CTF7 is built for learning, competition, and ethical cybersecurity practice. Every participant is expected to act with integrity, follow event rules, and help maintain a safe, respectful environment for others.

1. Respect and Fair Play

Treat all participants, mentors, organizers, staff, and volunteers with respect. Harassment, hate speech, intimidation, abusive conduct, or disruptive behavior—whether written, verbal, or digital—is strictly prohibited.

2. No DDoS or Platform Abuse

Distributed denial-of-service attacks, deliberate platform overloading, or any attempt to disrupt infrastructure are forbidden.
Exploiting bugs, loopholes, or unintended behavior for unfair advantage is also prohibited. Report vulnerabilities to the organizers through the official event channel so they can be handled responsibly.

3. No Flag Sharing or Teaming in Solo Events

Do not share flags, hints, or solutions unless the event format explicitly allows team collaboration. In solo events, informal teaming, answer sharing, or outside assistance will be treated as cheating and may result in immediate disqualification.

4. No Use of Pre-Solved Flags or External Solutions

Reusing pre-solved flags, previously obtained answers, or unauthorized write-ups from past events is considered cheating. Challenges must be solved during the event by the registered participant or team, unless the rules for that challenge state otherwise.

5. Plagiarism and Code Copying in Hackathons

Submit original work unless the event rules expressly allow reused components. Copying substantial code, content, or project work without attribution or permission is not acceptable. Open-source tools, libraries, and APIs may be used when permitted and properly credited.

6. Automation and Botting

Do not use bots, brute-force tooling, or automated scripts unless a challenge explicitly permits automation. When automation is allowed, it must remain within the published challenge scope and platform limits.

7. Respect Time Limits and Submission Rules

Late submissions are not accepted unless stated otherwise. Follow instructions regarding submission format, naming, or platform usage.

8. Organizer Decisions and Enforcement

Organizers may investigate suspicious activity, remove unfair advantages, and disqualify participants who violate these rules or manipulate the system. Serious misconduct may also lead to prize revocation or restrictions from future events.

9. Ethical Conduct Beyond the Event

CTF7 promotes ethical hacking and responsible cybersecurity practice. Participants are expected to maintain professionalism across event spaces, community channels, and any platform activity connected to the competition.

10. Reporting Issues

If you witness cheating, harassment, technical abuse, or other misconduct, report it through the official event channel or support email. Reports will be handled as discreetly as possible and reviewed by the organizing team.

11. Legal Compliance

Do not attack, probe, or interfere with third-party systems, services, or infrastructure. All activity must remain within the published event scope, applicable law, and the educational purpose of the platform.

By participating in CTF7 events, hackathons, labs, or related activities, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct and any event-specific rules. These standards help protect fairness, safety, and trust for every participant.
Violations may result in warnings, score adjustments, disqualification, prize ineligibility, or removal from future events, depending on severity. Thank you for helping maintain a secure, fair, and professional competition environment.
